Gina Chua is executive editor of Semafor, a global news startup. She joined in May 2022 as part of the founding team led by Ben Smith and Justin Smith. She was previously an executive editor at Reuters. She was also editor-in-chief of the South China Morning Post and The Asian Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong and deputy editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal in New York. Gina transitioned at the end of 2020, making her one of the longest-serving transgender journalists in the industry.
