Is president of the National Press Association of Chile. He is also director of the digital media El Líbero. Before that, he worked for more than two decades as editor and columnist for the newspaper El Mercurio. He is also the author of several books. He was also a professor of Mass Media Interviewing at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He holds a degree in Social Communication and Journalism from Universidad Diego Portales.
